The U.P. Immigration Experience
Based on a 2018 exhibit by NMU's Beaumier U.P. Heritage Center, The U.P. Immigration Experience, this course explores various aspects of immigration to the Upper Peninsula in the late 19th and 20th century. It discusses what drove immigrants to choose the Upper Peninsula as a home, the challenges they faced, and the pieces of culture they brought with them. In addition, it features the stories of more recent immigrants of the Upper Peninsula, and how their experiences are similar or different from those who came before.
