Lunch & Learn: Copyright and Creative Common Licensing for Open Education
The OER Working Group invites you to our first event of the Fall 2025. Anyone who is interested in Open Education Resources (OER), Open Access (OA), or Open Pedagogy should attend because these concepts are foundational to all of these efforts.
Bring your lunch and learn more about copyright in Higher Education. This workshop is designed for faculty and graduate students who want to know more about how copyright shapes teaching and research, and how open licensing, such as those provided by Creative Commons, can support the sharing of ideas and information.
Emera Bridger Wilson (Librarian) and Tom Gillespie (Senior Instructional Technologist) will introduce the benefits and limitations of all rights reserved copyright, how open licensing works with copyright, and facilitate activities to teach participants how to select the correct Creative Common licenses for their teaching and research.
