Alumni and friends are invited to virtually join President Brock Tessman for a chat on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at 7 p.m. Eastern. President Tessman will share campus updates, answer questions, and virtually connect with alumni and friends of the Wildcat community. The event will begin with a welcome from NMU Alumni Advisory Board President Chris Charboneau ’93 BS.
Questions will be taken live during the event via the Q&A function on Zoom, and alumni can submit questions ahead of time during registration. Registration is required. Once alumni and friends register, they will receive the Zoom link to join the conversation. Those who register are automatically entered into a t-shirt drawing and five winners will be chosen during the event.

The Beaumier U.P. Heritage Center is excited to announce a performance by the folk-jazz fusion group, American Patchwork Quartet. The performance will take place on Saturday, September 14 at 7:30 p.m. at Forest Roberts Theatre.

American Patchwork Quartet (APQ) is on a mission to reclaim the immigrant soul of American Roots Music. Comprised of four highly acclaimed artists, APQ showcases the dynamic diversity of contemporary culture by reimagining timeless songs from America's past.
American Patchwork Quartet (APQ), led by multi-Grammy award-winning guitarist/vocalist Clay Ross, binds timeless American folk songs with jazz sophistication, country twang, West African hypnotics, and East Asian ornamentation. APQ’s sound is a masterful confluence of tradition and innovation, transcending culture, politics, and ideology.

The United Way of Marquette County is once again honored to present the Detroit Redwings Alumni vs Marquette’s Yoopers United!
Marquette County Hockey Night will take place on Friday, September 13th at the Berry Events Center. The outdoor tailgate party will kick off a 3:30pm, doors open for the game at 5pm with pre-game events beginning at 6pm. The puck drops at 7pm for this thrilling night of Hockey! In 2022, at the inaugural event, the Marquette Yoopers United gave the Detroit Redwings Alumni quite the challenge when the game ended in a tie! Over 3,000 fans enjoyed the show where we raised over $100,000 for Marquette County non-profit organizations.
Each year, the United Way of Marquette County proudly partners with over 20 local non-profits to fund much needed programs, right here in Marquette County. In addition to our fundraising campaign, we are focused on matching volunteers with local needs, working together to create a stronger, healthier community.

The Upper Michigan Brain Tumor Center (UMBTC) is hosting our fourth annual golf event at noon on Thursday, September 19, 2024. The 4-person scramble will take place on the Greywalls course at Marquette golf club and will be broken into men's, women's, and mixed divisions.
Please join us for a fun round of golf participating in on-course events (longest drive, closest to the pin, longest putt), dinner, and silent auction. Our hole-in-prize is valued at $20,000 and is a trip for two to Cape Wickham in Tasmania, Australia.
Join us for the launch of the NMU Financial Literacy Program! Two events will be celebrating the launch: a presentation & conference on Thursday, April 25th, and a Workshop on Friday, April 26th.
Friday's workshop is primarily geared towards educators and education majors. While we anticipate the attendance of teachers, the workshop is open to anyone who may find themselves in a position to assist students with financial literacy matters or the students themselves.
