NMU ORCHESTRA AUDITIONS: Tuesday, August 26th 3:00-6:00pm at the Reynolds Recital Hall. Sign up for a specific 5-minute slot (sign-up sheet will be posted by August 19th on the music department bulletin board (across from TFA 102), or just show up on the 26th!

REHEARSALS: 4:00-5:50pm Tuesdays and Thursdays in the Reynolds Recital Hall during the NMU semester.

NMU WellBeing Promotions is excited to host the second annual Mind over Miles 5k on Thursday, October 9th at 5:30 PM, in honor of World Mental Health Day. This event celebrates the connection between mental and physical wellbeing while encouraging open conversations about mental health and reducing stigma around seeking help. Participants will enjoy a scenic loop through much of NMU’s campus, starting and finishing at the Wildcat Statue by Jamrich.
Registration is available on NMU’s ticketing site. T-shirt sales close at 11:59 PM on Sunday, September 14th, and online registration ends at 11:59 PM on October 5th (no same-day registration). Packet pickup will be held on Wednesday, October 8th from 3-6 PM in the Jamrich 1100 lobby, and on race day from 4:30-5:15 PM. Timing will be provided by Superior Timing. Post-race refreshments are sponsored by Embers Credit Union, gift cards for the top three overall finishers in female, male, and non-binary categories are sponsored by Queen City Running Company, and age group awards are sponsored by NMU Case Management.

New this year in the weeks leading up to the race, faculty, staff, and students are invited to join ‘Cats to 5k, a training program with beginner and intermediate groups to fit most fitness levels. Staff and faculty sessions will be led by colleagues, while student sessions will be student-led. Employee session details will be shared via email as leaders are finalized, and student sessions will be posted on the Hub. If you are interested in leading any sessions, please reach out to Jessica at jcoullar@nmu.edu.
The Healthcare Career Fair provides an excellent opportunity for you to discuss full-time jobs, part-time jobs, internships, and summer employment with healthcare employers. Types of positions represented include Care Aides, Nurses, Medical Technicians, Social Workers, Phlebotomists, and more!
There is no cost for students or alumni to attend this fair. Remember to dress for success and have your resume ready!
Win a prize! Students/alumni who register in Handshake and also check in at the job fair will be placed into a drawing. Ten winners will be selected and notified the day after the fair.

This summit aims to bring together BIPOC and allies from Michigan, the Midwest and beyond to collectively share best practices in facilitating BIPOC-centered spaces in outdoor recreation, environmental justice and conservation movements. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from keynote speakers, panelists and each other about best practices in grassroots movements that are helping to strengthen the relationship of BIPOC communities and Nature.
Join us for the 21st Annual Construction Management Career Fair. This concentrated recruiting event, geared specifically towards students choosing construction and building technology majors, will allow you to visit with students and alumni who are seriously considering the challenging careers related to these fields.
This year, we will only have an in-person fair.
Join medicinal plant chemistry seniors for the final presentation of their capstone projects! Twenty-four students are slated to present throughout the day in Northern Michigan University's Mead Auditorium. Scheduled presentations will be five to ten minutes in length. Please consider attending to lend your support. All are welcome. Hope to see you there!

Ready to unleash your inner Spielberg? Join us at the 24-Hour Film Challenge happening April 11th-12th in the School of Art & Design!
When: Friday, April 11th, starting at 3 PM
Where: Art & Design Building, Room 67
Who: All NMU students, regardless of your filmmaking skills
Deadline: 3 PM on Saturday!
Grab your friends (3-4 people per group), or come solo, and get ready for some cinematic magic! You'll all receive the same prompt to kickstart your creative juices.
We've got you covered with access to editing software, studio space, and equipment - yes, you can even use your smartphone! You'll have the run of the place from 3 PM to 6 PM on Friday. After that, it's all on your crew until the studios reopen at 12 PM on Saturday.
New to moviemaking? Fear not! We've got support available to newbie filmmakers during those hours.
We'll screen the films at 3:15 in Art 165, followed by awards and prizes worth over $400 in filmmaking gear for people in the top three teams! Huge thanks to the School of Art & Design for sponsoring the prizes!
