This workshop encourages participants to rethink conflict and to become involved in civil discourse with people outside of their own social and political circles. By practicing respectful conversation, even when there is disagreement, people are more likely to identify common ground and to come to a deeper understanding of others' perspectives. We will learn about the psychology of attitude change and persuasion, and learn some techniques to engage in conversations with people with whom we may not agree.
The OER Working Group invites you to our first event of the Fall 2025. Anyone who is interested in Open Education Resources (OER), Open Access (OA), or Open Pedagogy should attend because these concepts are foundational to all of these efforts.

Emera Bridger Wilson (Librarian) and Tom Gillespie (Senior Instructional Technologist) will introduce the benefits and limitations of all rights reserved copyright, how open licensing works with copyright, and facilitate activities to teach participants how to select the correct Creative Common licenses for their teaching and research.
